ABOUT HALEY

Growing up watching Frank Capra and Billy Wilder films, Old Hollywood has been a heavy influence on my style of storytelling. I love taking that film noir world and combining it with my generation’s unique experiences of growing up in the digital age, to create a voice for those who can’t relate to the world around them. My biggest source of motivation is knowing that what I write will reach other decades after me as those classic stories from a hundred years ago have done to me.

I grew up in the entertainment industry in Hollywood as a professional dancer. After having a wake-up call, I redirected my energy to behind the camera. I could not relate to the content being put out by the major media companies as I felt it glorified all that was wrong with the world. I went on to create my own independent production company that produced short films, music videos, and commercials. I wanted to escape the lunacy, so I began writing original stories for my own company that emphasized my moral compass. I wrote a feature length screenplay and then transcribed it into a novel. It turned into an all encompassing love and here I am, ready to release North of Sunset- my debut science fiction book.

Oh boy! I really love what I do in regards to work (writing, production, hat branding), but when I need to take it down, I enjoy being out in the world. Whether that be fishing on a river or reading in a café, I want to experience life unapologetically.
